The Green Gossip

Lynne Amyx, PTSA President

January 2010

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break. As I was opening my gifts from my sons, I was reminded of how wonderful the Holiday Boutique was. Those kids had so much fun shopping and I definitely reaped the benefits! Thank you, Anne Kiner, for putting a smile on the kids’ and parents’ faces! Also a huge thank you to Ms. Keeton and Jackie Eliopoulos for putting on the best Holiday Marketplace ever! Not withstanding a few electrical problems, everyone thing looked beautiful, the music by Millikan High Big Jazz Band and our Girl Scouts was excellent and the vendors made it extra special!

Look for information to come out regarding our new coffee fundraiser. We will be selling coffee beans for all your coffee lovers out there (and I know there is a lot!). Thanks to Anita Wagner for dealing with all of this!

Coming on January 22nd is the 4th Annual Father/Daughter Dance. This year will be changed up with a little salsa and mambo and I can’t wait to see the fun everyone will be having! Thank you to Theresa Vidovich and Theresa Becich for bringing a new twist.

January wouldn’t be complete without Skate Night on January 27th. Newcomb PTSA rents out the entire skating rink and everyone grooves to the music and has a blast. Thank you, Raquel Fernandez and Vanessa Quirke for planning this!

We are still looking for two very important Chairpeople. The Carnival and Mother/Son Night are without people to lead. Please let me know if you and a group of friends are willing to step up. I would hate to disappoint the kids!

Well, we had a month off in December with no PTSA meeting but now are back on track! I hope to see you at our January 26th PTSA Meeting!

Newcomb PTSA is going green!
